Speak Up for Children 2021

It was a magical and memorable evening for the friends and supporters of the Children’s Law Center! The annual celebration and fundraising event, Speak Up for Children 2021, was attended by 170 guests on October 7th on the back lawn and at the greenhouse of Dr. Gary Poehling. Dr. Poehling and his daughter, Dr. Kathy Poehling, a CLC board member, generously offered the outdoor space as a safe gathering spot for the CLC’s planned evening. Everyone enjoyed custom printed Speak Up for Children masks, drinks, heavy hors d’oeuvres, an informative and moving program, and a silent auction. Susan H. Boyles of Kilpatrick Stockton, Presenting Sponsor, was honored with the Volunteer Leadership Award. Katelyn, a former CLC client who is now enrolled as a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Chris Smith, a former CLC intern shared their experiences with Childhood Domestic Violence and the impact of the CLC in pre-recorded messages.

This year’s event exceeded all past fundraising event totals through generous sponsors, ticketed guests, donations, and silent auction bidding. We thank all of our supporters for making possible the work being done by the staff attorneys in our Forsyth and Guilford County offices. We look forward to expanding our advocacy for children and positively impacting their futures as emotionally healthy adult members of our communities.
